Sunrise, Deering
Estate, was made during a workshop that I was teaching near CoralGables,
Florida. This is probably the only ‘sunrise field session’
I have ever done towhere the temperature was 85 degrees! And, so
was the water!I wanted to do somethingthat entailed a long exposure,
so I put a .90 Neutral Density filter, and a#29 Red into the bellows,
and calculated that I could give a one-minute exposure if I stopped
down to f45. During the exposure, one of my students walked out
to thetrees on the left, sawthat he was in my photograph, and turned
