Stormclouds, Washburn
Point, was made on August 13, 1983, during a workshop I was teaching
along with Lewis Kemper, William Neill, and Cole Weston. The day
was full of wonderful, misty clouds, sometimes obscuring the view
altogether, only to suddenly lift, and present us with a new assortment
of clouds, rain, and views. As the clouds were drifting up-canyon,
I could see that they would gracefully encircle Vernal Fall, and
one of my most favorite YoSemite photographs was made.
