GlacialNarrows,Stanislaus River,
is also known by its nickname, “The Keyhole”, and
for a pretty good reason. At the time this photograph was made,I
was running a small Commercial Studio in Sonora, and on this particular
day became concerned that I was spending so much of my time indoors,
doing ‘table top work’, and perhaps was losing track
of my abilities to work with the Natural Scene. I headed up to
Sonora Pass, stopping at manlocations to stop and ask “Is
this what I should photograph?”.. Only at this one spot
did I ‘hear’ a Yes, and made this photograph with
the ‘permission’ that came from a slow thoughtful
approach... ‘The Key’ I needed to know I was still
on the right track
