GlacialNarrows,Stanislaus River, is also known by its nickname, “The Keyhole”, and for a pretty good reason. At the time this photograph was made,I was running a small Commercial Studio in Sonora, and on this particular day became concerned that I was spending so much of my time indoors, doing ‘table top work’, and perhaps was losing track of my abilities to work with the Natural Scene. I headed up to Sonora Pass, stopping at manlocations to stop and ask “Is this what I should photograph?”.. Only at this one spot did I ‘hear’ a Yes, and made this photograph with the ‘permission’ that came from a slow thoughtful
approach... ‘The Key’ I needed to know I was still on the right track
